I participated in a blog swap for the first time and it was awesome!
I received my gift a while ago, but since I’ve been busy with DC travels (which is another story I’ll be sharing with you soon) I haven’t had any time to write about it yet. Waiting to share this has been killer, so I’m excited to finally get the ball rolling.
First, here’s how it all went down.
Kallie from But First, Coffee invited us to join in a “Where I’m From” swap where you are randomly assigned a fellow blogger from around the nation (or internationally) to be your partner for the exchange. You get to know each other and chat about all things girly and bloggy, then you send out a care package of sorts inspired by your new found friend + the town your from.
My partner was Elise and she was a great person to get to know! (She has an awesome blog by the way. You should check it out!)
Here’s what I sent to Elise.
I wanted to represent my hometown as well as my home-away-from-home, Kansas City. I love them both so I had to rep them equally. For Iowa, what better way to show what defines us than the Iowa Hawkeyes!? Pure Iowa greatness, right there. I also made sure to mention that #83 in the picture is my brother. For Kansas City stuff, she mentioned that she loved to cook and entertain guests, so I got her some Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ sauce and I got her an adorable KC Starbucks mug because, well, why wouldn’t I? It’s adorable!
Here’s what Elise sent to me.
Elise told me she went to Permian High School in Texas. If you’ve seen Friday Night Lights, then you’ll know why her high school is a big deal. It’s the school’s football team that the movie is based on! I mentioned to her that I’ve never seen the movie fully but I love the soundtrack, so I love that she got me the soundtrack as well. There’s something about “You’re Hand In Mine” by Explosions in the Sky that gets me every time!
Overall, it was a great experience and I can’t wait to participate in another blog swap in the future!
Thanks again, Elise!
